Preserve me that I take refuge,
Because in You I put my trust;
The onslaught against me is huge,
And I know You are fair and just.
You are my Lord, good to my soul,
I am no good apart from You;
Knowing with You I can console,
Because You are faithful and true.
As for the saints throughout the land,
They are excellent and righteous;
In whom delight in Your command,
Because of impartial justice.
My sorrow goes to those who run,
After idols of the false gods;
Those having some immoral fun,
No comprehension of the frauds.
You are my chosen and my cup,
You hold and maintain of my lot;
You supply the drink that I sup,
Cherishing everything you got.
The lines fell in pleasant places,
I have a good inheritance;
Because God gives His good graces,
For knowing of my importance.
I bless the Lord who gives counsel,
Instructs with the reins of my heart;
For His Word that He does stencil,
That assists for me to impart.
I have set the Lord before me,
Because He is at my right hand;
I shall not be shaken to see,
By me guiding to where I stand.
Therefore my heart will remain glad,
As I continue to rejoice;
To dwell secure and never sad,
Resting in hope to hear His voice.
You will not abandon my soul,
Or suffer to see corruption;
You are at the helm in control,
Guiding life to avoid destruction.
