I will teach transgressors,
And sinners to return;
Making them confessors,
Avoiding hell to burn.
Deliver me from the blood,
O God of salvation;
Immerse me in the flood,
As a new creation.
My tongue will sing aloud,
About Your righteousness;
Sounding above the cloud,
All that I will profess.
Open my lips for my tongue,
So I can sing Your praise;
Through the air they are flung,
Throughout all of my days.
For You will not delight,
Desired sacrifice;
Burnt offering that might,
Finding You to entice.
Sacrifices of God,
Are a broken spirit;
Sins that make someone flawed,
For corrupted merit.
But You will not despise,
The good for Your pleasure;
Opening our eyes,
When seeing Your treasure.
Do good unto Zion,
In building up the walls;
Stop the roaring lion,
When heard the trumpet calls.
For then You will delight,
In the right sacrifice;
Burnt offerings are right,
That are paying the price.
