The Backyard Of My Life

Meet Me In The Morning Rain

Crimson and clover by blue crystal fires
Watching evenings sunset painted in the sky
I walked down your old street yesterday
Wonder do i ever cross your mind?
You know i ain't the domesticated kind
You were tired of living from a suitcase all the time
Now i regret i neglected such a wonderful wild wood flower

Girl don't go away meet me in the morning rain
Times a wasting things will never be the same
There's a light where the darkness ends
Maybe me and you can be forever friends
Spin the wheel of fortune start all over again

We all feel like crying sometimes
She looks so sad scared lost lonely waiting for a moment
Somebody to listen to her heart and notice when shes not around
When we were together i didn't always appreciate how special you are
Like a solar eclipse or a shooting star
Before i could take it all in you vanished in the haze
I was a fool to let you slip through my fingers

Looking out my window watching the morning rain
I still feel were connected by an invisible chain
There's hope down by the whirlpools end
Like ships in the night lets not pretend
Turn back the hands of time start all over again

Born of frustration we where waltzing along
Every now and then you would shower me with guilt
I was blissfully unaware that there was anything wrong
That's when my world started to tilt

While the night wind rattles memories from far away
Spotting moon light dance across a pitch black sky
Standing under the lamppost outside your old house
Deep meaningful moments impossible to resist.
Promises of magic perpetually persist
I could dream of you forever and the life we once knew
Now i can see i should of paid attention when i belonged to you
