The Last Shall be Trace-less  5/25/2021

Are we back
to basics?

Back to what we had?

Will there be a new normalcy?

Will we relish and mourn
what we had?

Nothing is basic
not much is as it once was....

Is this another campaign of
misinformation

Can people return
to being "the same?"

I once thought life was
pedantic---
too much of the serving of
routine and refrain.

If I had a clock that marched
backwards,
there'd be a lot I'd return
to the old status quo....
and much of it
would have a life and a name...

I don't believe in
coincidence.
I do know its easier to lie.
I know its human to pretend
and cover over
the truth, when it can disrupt.

I am weary of those
who put a liar's face on things.
I am weary of being told
it will be swell.

I know that there was a lot
that needed changing
and the changes that have been
made on behalf of humanity
have been far less human
than the solutions that Congress
is trying to sell.

Spinning is for a game called Twister.
Obfuscation belongs on series called
The X-files.
Smiling seems easier for elected reptiles
and the many (poly) ticks who feed on the
belief and trust of
the rank and file.

If truth is out there
then why do they act as if
we can't handle it
or couldn't recognize it
if it slapped us in the face.

All I know is
the lives of so many of us
are permanently altered
and the clues to the answers
are the dust in the wind
leaving us to hold onto nothing
those who we've loved and what we've cherished
have left us--
our thinning memories
are what's left in their place.

MELOO STRAIGHT FROM HER TILT-A-WORLD......

NOTE: I purposefully used tired and worn out truisms and verbiage
to emphasize how readily can be accepted what ought not be accepted and
how when we're too much over-whelmed by a technologocized dialog...there
is too much filler and not enough of the truth....even though its "out there."
