I call out unto the Lord,
Out of all my distress;
He heard me not ignored,
My plea He did address.
He cast me in the deep,
To the heart of the sea;
Into a fish I leap,
As waves passed over me.
I am driven away,
From the sight of the Lord;
Because I went astray,
And not in one accord.
I look upon His church,
Water compassed me about;
An escape that I search,
Never holding a doubt.
At roots of the mountains,
I went down to the land;
Closed bars as God listens,
Life sober on the sand.
When my life faints away,
I remembered the Lord;
That I plea as I pray,
Who I loved and adored.
Some pay to vain idols,
Forsake hope of His love;
Like a horse wears bridles,
Led by rider thereof.
My voice of thanksgiving,
Will sacrifice to God;
Salvation for living,
Erased where I am flawed.
The Lord spoke to the fish,
Vomited me on land;
The Lord gave me my wish,
As I laid on the sand.
