O Lord, you have searched me,
You have known me throughout;
You have seen what I see,
Knowing I shed no doubt.
You know when I sit down,
And times that I rise up;
Why I would wear a frown,
When I sip from my cup.
You spot my thoughts afar,
Comprehending my stand;
You see me drive my car,
On roads throughout the land.
You are searching my path,
Acquainted with my ways;
You spare me from the wrath,
Whenever my heart strays.
Even before I speak,
You know my thoughts gather;
For you know what I seek,
Knowing altogether.
You hem me and beset,
From behind and before;
Lay Your hand when I fret,
With an unwelcome chore.
Such knowledge wonderful,
It is too high to attain;
For it is pleasureful,
In my heart that you reign.
