Plans of the heart belong to man,
But the tongue answers from the Lord;
While thoughts coming from a plan,
Are not always in one accord.
The ways of man pure in his eyes,
But the Lord will weigh the spirit;
What comes from the heart does disguise,
As to hands do in their merit.
Commit your work onto the Lord,
Your thoughts shall then be established;
For they will never be ignored,
The end result as accomplished.
The Lord has made for its purpose,
Even the wicked days of trouble;
Guided by an evil compass,
For laboring in the rubble.
Those of having pride in the heart,
A detestation to the Lord;
His wrath for punishing to thwart,
When His warnings have been ignored.
When iniquity has been purged,
Atonement comes from steadfast love;
While mercy and truth has been urged,
From the faithfulness up above.
Because of the fear of the Lord,
One will turn away from evil;
Starting to be in one accord,
Avoiding works of the devil.
When the ways of man, please the Lord,
He makes His foes to be at peace;
No longer in having discord,
Letting all hostilities cease.
Better is having righteousness,
Than revenues of injustice;
There is more wealth in godliness,
Than in any wrongful practice.
The heart of a man plans his way,
But the Lord will direct his steps;
Learning how to trust and obey,
For the future that the Lord preps.
