My Truth Is Out There (re-edited for clarity of thought and image later)

at night
i leave my body
and go wandering
the bed is relieved
and full of a thousand happy kittens
of regret and dissent

a wounded dog clings to me
for comfort and I pull her in
the wolf pup nuzzles too
in its wildness it
has lost its mother

in the distance a Kodiak bear bawls
knowing the woods
which were once so
vast and primevil
are now disappearing
and nearly gone

the little lion of my heart
flems and whirs as he
watches the slime trail
of a small snail
as it makes its final trek
across the brick
as the sun rises
its mighty beams
outlining its fall
to the pavement

hearing the calls abd
the foot-falls of other animals
human and otherwise
in a fog
I speak to them
in my mind

it will not be long
step lightly
and
return  before sunrise--
all of you vampires
and ghosts
or you'll no longer know
a knowledge
called home

billowing blue-grey clouds
gather themselves up
in the stratosphere
i have climbed here
to these filmy mountains
before

reaching out I
still touch
the face
that is a universe
and leap
waving at the shell-house
which was once me

calibrating
the tunnel that is upwards
into the glow of light
I close my eyes
in trust

my truth is out there
all my tears trailing behind me
become the falling rain of
fading memory
traveling earthbound
slowly
at five miles per hour.
