God's Country

I don't want to retire in the city,
City life holds nothing for me.
It's green fields and country roads
and a carpet of flowers for me.

It's rainbows and skies of blue,
family & friends who care for you
Sunshine and rainy days too
Enough to wash away the blues.

The city seems cold and lonely
Sad now , the way things are.
People walking past with angry looks
Hate flashing in their minds.

God's country is quiet, peaceful,
With friends not far away.
So give me sunny skies, hills and vines
And a peaceful heart with love that binds.
