IT TOUCHED MY HEART

JOY SUN

DEDICATION

To delivery times in the matter of "it touch my heart".

Brother Ozonte of Kukupkoyoriyor in Sokoro Hill, of the Golden Church of Blue Gardens was desperately in need of a wife. A sleek, educated lady, named Sister Permanento had just moved into the church and was single. Everyone of the young men's eyes were on Sister Permanento popularly called "Sister P". Soon, nine brothers had filed their interest in "Sister P." Brother Ozonte was not educated, but he felt it was his last chance and he had to make bold, so he was the tenth. Of all the sisters in the church, Ozonte loved "Sister P" most. There was no dispute about this. The applications filled Pastor Ace Wise desk of the Golden Church of Blue Gardens. So, he called the brothers, all of whom were well to do and educated at various levels. They were asked to express in words why they had made Sister Permanento their choice. Everyone spoke after they introduced themselves. One by one, they all came on that day and gave their episode. Then, it was brother Ozonte's turn. When he walked in, Pastor Wise greeted him and asked him to have a seat, then begin. "Can you introduce yourself?", Pastor Wise asked. Brother Ozonte replied: "Oga, I be welder. I having disability to speak. Sister Patience, he touch my heart, Sister Grace, he touch my heart, Sister Alice, he touch my heart, but Sister Permanento, he touch my heart, he touch my heart, he touch my heart!!!" Then tears began to stream down his face as he looked face down. Pastor Wise had to maintain his composure. Although he was not lettered, Wise discovered true love as he spoke. All he meant was that of all these ladies he had mentioned, none was as lovely to him as sister Permanento. When Sister Permanento was called, to everyone's surprise and the Pastor's, she chose brother Ozonte. Then she continued "most illeterates are nerve-fronted, biased and old hearted, but not Ozonte. I find true love in Ozonte." No one including Pastor Wise could convince the Masters' Degree holder about her decision. The marriage was fixed and successful. On the program was written boldly "IT TOUCH MY HEART", THE SOLEMNIZATION OF HOLY MATRIMONY BETWEEN SISTER PERMANENTO OF HOSANNA HILL AND BROTHER OZONTE OF KUKUPKOYORIYOR. DATE: 9TH JUNE, JAN-FE-JAN.
VENUE: WIDE GRACE HALL. It was an untold success. Although brother Ozonte had little money as a welder, God had provided. The new family was strong and always happy. Two weeks after the wedding, one of the other suitors was caught in police net. Another, died of overspeeding and being drunk. Three others lost their jobs. The other four never came to church anymore, meaning that they had primarily come to church because of Sister Permanento. The Ozonte's went on to have a lovely marriage blessed with two kids, Paul Ozonte and Peter Ozonte whom Brother Ozonte vowed would be educated to the highest levels because of what the lack of education had caused him. The Ozonte's were popular, wealthy and influential, and went on to live to celebrate their Golden jubilee and see their legitimate grand kids of the third generation.
