Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

A soft voice

I awoke this morning, the sun was shinning
The blue sky empty of clouds
The birds were singing their beautiful songs
But there was no more love to be found.
There were no happy voices singing along
No one to tug on my hand
No running feet searching out their life
All had drifted through my fingers like sand.
The smiles I once saw now vanished and gone
No more laughter to start off my day
Only a feeling of my eternal loss
Knowing that love was so far away.
Nothing can mend the pain that I feel
The pain that I wake with each day
The tears on my pillow when trying to sleep
Thinking how life so quickly slipped away.
I have done all I can there is no more to do
I accept my fate and my fall
I now welcome the day when the sun will stop shinning
And I’m not waiting for that soft voice to call.

I miss you Ben
