 JANET'S PLANET

Twilight Years

"Grow old with me! The best is yet to be."

Robert Browning

When we reach those twilight years

In the mist of dew drop tears

As you stop and stare

I beside you, will be there

We both have acted out on stage

We will finally reach that ripe old age

Long ago we gave to each other our heart

We vowed to never part

As we grew wiser and older

A lot of weight was placed on our shoulders

I'll be your eyes when you can no longer see

You'll be there for me

I'll be there for you

This as our love is forever true

When you forget your words

We will sit and listen to the birds

Throughout our plans and schemes

We've had many pleasant dreams

As the sun goes down without a sound

You have already reached homeward bound

Oh, my how the years have flown by

We will both rest in peace in our home on high

*Author's note: To my dear loving husband our twilight years will live on and on in each of our hearts. Our words, "come grow old with me."
