We are America
Which should be nuff said
But seems so many forget
The original path led
We are a country
Of riches and strength
But its We The People
That must go the length
Home of the brave
Land of the free
When Old Glory would fly
As far as the eye could see
A helping hand extended
From brother to brother
Open arms welcomed
To those from lands other
Our Military and Police the best
And deserving highest honors
Once respect and love was shown
To all our precious protectors
Yes we are America
But alas it seems forgotten
Without the two words that proceed
It will become a seed to rotten
Our flag is stomped
Burned and disrespected
This is a huge shame
That quickly must be corrected
That flag is the soul
Of this nation we love
And covers the fallen brave
That now walk with Him above
Those from other lands
Are welcome to flee
But it must be for love
Not what they get free
The hate that breeds
Deep within some hearts
Must be shed
For the love from our start
The Lady of The Harbor
Witness to tragedy and fear
Even from a face of stone
Falls sadness and tears
The division now present
How did we reach such an enigma
We MUST once again become
The United States of America
Poet's Note:
Without her people being united
America would be just another
piece of land on this earth.
How can people so easily dismiss
what this country gives us.
If we don't shed the hate
I fear we will become just that
another piece of land instead of
the 'United States' of America...
The only fight I can give for her now
is the power of my pen...
ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
