Poetic Verses
The Hours Just Too Few
All the time that passes,
in daily routine;
is time that takes us to a place
slow and unseen
And all the time we spend
in leisure and at play,
is always time spent
in the most fleeting part of day
And when I turn around to check
the timepiece on the wall;
if routine is where I'm at;
the numbers ne'er move at all
My pleasure times wind down so quick;
I never see them go,
until the timepiece chimes away
the telltale seconds flow
Likewise, long ago,
in that time when I was young,
time's passage seemed so slow
to drift by unsung
Yet when I blink my eyes;
I'm in the golden years,
And regret times when I couldn't wait
as I blink back the tears
So rapidly the days they pass,
and quickly fade away
I hardly have the time to
savor life's bouquet
The projects I have planned,
the things I meant to do;
It all has passed so quickly,
the hours just too few
