Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

If I am not the man I thought I was
Then who am I to be?
It seems the man I always thought I was
Was imagined just by me?
I am not this man that wears my clothes
Nor shaves his ragged face
That enjoys sunsets over ocean views
And wonders what of space?
Nor am I this man that loved too much
And had his heart torn from his chest
That only needed a hand to hold
To put his mind at rest.
It seems I am the worst of all your fears
Just a thing you’d leave to die
It mattered not of time forgot
When I was your joy and pride.
I am just a man that mattes not
And just watches days go by
So who am I you may well ask…?
Just a ghost of a man that tried.
