The Walking Dead/Death's Parade

NVA, VC, US Jarheads, Dog Face US Army Grunts make up the brunt of the Corps of Corpses in death's parade,

One hundred and five degrees in the burning shade followed by five, six months of pouring rain, characterized by the monsoon's season of death and pain.

Taking ears for suvounirs. Manhood severed and sewn into gaping mouths, amerikkkan soldiers amerikkkan proud.

They say war is hell but it's just pillage, rape and murder. A litany of endless battles wherein even the survivors are slaughtered.

Spiritually slaughtered from the bloodshed, maimed bodies and death dealing from which there seems to be no healing.

Low on wisdom, inebreated on patriotism, emotionally and psychologically they seem to never fully recover. Slaughter comes from all quarters...

Gonorrhea, booby traps, bullets and Chicom grenades, the NVA, VC, US Jarheads, Dog Face US Army Grunts make up the brunt of the Corps of Corpses in death's parade,

In the jungle's sweltering heat, tigers, snakes, leaches, ants, fleas and mosquitoes aren't the only to bite, blood suck or kill you;

Friendly fire, shorts rounds, fragging,  open abdominal wounds, left testicle gone, sucking wound to the chest not to mention traumated limb amputations. Our medics were some of the best.

LZ being hot Doc would triage on the spot. Leaving some to die because he had to attend to the rest.

Although only eighteen Doc is the best at what he does. At times Doc seems cold but we all show him love. If there is an iota that you can survive the Doc will keep you alive.

When not treating the troops Doc is on flank or drag with his 45acp, M-16 and medical bag. War ain't hell but for some it's hell's door.

The congress and President has canon fodder galore. Wounded in action, killed in action, DOA the ameriKKKan way,

As the Bugler plays taps and the honor guard blast a last volley, the family mourns.

But who mourns those that survived the battle. Who mourns the walking dead?
