I will recount the steadfast love,
The blessings coming from the Lord;
Sending my praises up above,
How much He is loved and adored.
For all that the Lord has granted,
The great goodness unto this house;
For His word is so enchanted,
Showing for both me and my spouse.
Truly we are as His people,
Children who will not deal falsely;
Our Savior through the Gospel,
Although a life is so costly.
Affliction He was afflicted,
The angel present could have saved;
But the love as was predicted,
For the pity that had us enslaved.
He bore the sins and carried them,
But they rebelled from His Spirit;
Turned to foes that God did condemn,
Fighting against the good merit.
Then He remembered days of old,
Where He brought them out of the sea;
As a shepherd guarding His fold,
The Holy Spirit sees none flee.
He had led them by His right hand,
Up through the divided waters;
As each one followed His command,
As being His sons and daughters.
He led them through the wilderness,
They did not falter or stumble;
He provided food and drink to bless,
Despite the fact they did grumble.
Like the livestock down in the vale,
The Holy Spirit gave them rest;
They did feast on manna and quail,
During they journey of their quest.
