The Backyard Of My Life

Walls Of Flowers

In the eternal circle of the shadows of night
At the darkest hour before the break of light
The evening dust had settled in her eyes of gold
Watching walls of flowers slowly start to fold
Paper dreams disappeared dancing like a flame
Looking at faces in the condensation of the November rain

While the sun sinks like melted molten
In between the deep blue sea and a sky made of glass
Laid back on the bed smoking some wild cherry grass
Silent shes sleeping in a purple haze
Following footsteps on a road to nowhere in an endless maze

On the carpets of blue bells i fall to my feet
Somewhere over the hill i hear a sound so sweet
The silver raindrops in the Monday morning mist
Painted patterns on the wall start to turn and twist
Waterfalls of colour camouflage every grain of sand
There's a million universes in the palm of her hand

When the big yellow moon moves across
The empty shattered silhouetted sky of black
Clouds so swift they start to crawl and crack
Pretty little head on a palace of pillows again
Trying to read the inscription written on her cross and chain

In the never ending whirlpool of fantasy and fate
Broken clocks remind me time is all wrong and now I'm late
For a million institutions i don't believe in
Like a thief in the night they get under my skin
After been in a very similar situation
They attack my freedom and my imagination

While the carousel of secrets spins around
Walking down the yellow brick road flying on the ground
I tell myself this could be my moment
Lost in a dream don't spoil my day
I could spend forever hanging on every word you say
