Who has believed what he has heard,
The arm of the Lord been revealed;
Believing as shown in the Word,
To be considered as their shield.
For He grew up like a young plant,
Like a root out of the dry ground;
No form of beauty to enchant,
To desire that would astound.
He was despised and rejected,
A man of sorrows and having grief;
Dealt as if He was infected,
Esteemed Him not in disbelief.
He has borne the grief and sorrow,
Yet is smitten and afflicted;
As giving hope for tomorrow,
To those that have been convicted.
He was pierced for the transgression,
Crushed for our iniquity;
Chastisement through a confession,
Heals our immorality.
We are like sheep who went astray,
Iniquity laid on the Lord;
We can return unto His way,
And start being in one accord.
