Honourable Member

I am a Member of Parl-i-a-ment
And my heart now sings
At all the expected benefits
That position now brings.
Subsidised housing
That's just a start
Food and booze
An essential part
And then of course
My official expense account
Us it judicially and there's
No limit to the amount.
And of course in life
Constituents expect
It's their duty to
Treat me with respect.
Here we go then
If only for a limited time
A few happy years
Of fully sanctioned crime.
I just can't believe we still
Have this happy little farce
So, until next Election Day
John Public  kiss my arse
My Party doesn't matter
It's just a convenient name
The public will never twig that
Democracy's just a game.
We all stick together and
Defend what we've got
When push comes to shove
We all piss in then same pot,
‘Cos I'm a Member of Parl-I-a-ment
Now a member of the ruling elite
And if I play it right
The world is at my feet.
