As you have always obeyed,
Not only in my presence;
For salvation that God made,
Is much more in my absence.
Work out with trembling and fear,
It is God who works in you;
For His pleasure be sincere,
Working in remaining true.
So work for His good pleasure,
Do all things without grumbling;
Your effort with each measure,
And doing through your humbling.
That you may be innocent,
Blameless without a blemish;
In being benevolent,
In service as you cherish.
Shine as a light in this place,
In the midst of this nation;
Showing them and giving grace,
To a sick generation.
Hold fast to the Word of life,
So that in Christ you are proud;
Labor in vain causes strife,
Vanity is not allowed.
If I am poured as a drink,
As sacrificed offering;
I rejoice and glad to think,
As to what my faith will bring.
For the same you should be glad,
In joy and rejoice with me;
To serve you should not be sad,
What God states in His decree.
