Delusions

I can see the clouds gathering on the distant horizon
The Oceans will start to churn once the wind rages on through
Soon the storm will gather and fall heavy upon us…
We knew the storm was coming but it was never thought through.
It will swarm up out of the darkness
And turn the day into darkest night
There will be no more life of liberty
There will only be fear and flight.
The ground will shake beneath us
The heavens will rain on down
Humanity will be lost forever
As all and all hope drowns.
But the storm has not yet reached our shores
And we do have time to put things right…
We do not have to be just another failed species
We can stop the day turning into night.
It can only be done by working together
Not just working against another foe
Our true enemy is our own wanton delusions
Of who we are and all we might know?
