 Sir Ricky's Inspirational Poetry Corner

poetryofadove
The Lord has given me a tongue,
By all of those who have been taught;
I should know how the Word is flung,
For sustaining those who have sought.

I know how to sustain the Word,
To someone who has been weary;
In the morning that it is heard,
For waking up those who query.

The Lord God has opened my ear,
I defied not nor turned away;
I know to honor and revere,
Because I will trust and obey.

I gave my back to those who strike,
My cheeks to them that plucked my hair;
Because of me acting godlike,
For the things with the Lord I share.

I hid not my face from disgrace,
For those spitting trying to shame;
Because I know God will embrace,
As I continue to proclaim.

For the Lord will vindicate me,
As I shall not be confounded;
Since He opens my eyes to see,
What His Word that has astounded.

I have set my face like a flint,
For I will not be put to shame;
Light of His glory makes them squint,
In the darkness hearing His name.

Behold, the Lord God will help me,
They all wear out as a garment;
Who would declare me as guilty,
As each one dies as a varmint.

Who amongst you that fears the Lord,
As His soul who obeys His voice;
In the darkness He is ignored,
For iniquities are their choice.
