Having encouragement in Christ,
Will give you a comfort in love;
Participation be enticed,
From the Holy Spirit thereof.
Complete joy and in the same mind,
With sympathy and affection;
Being in full accord aligned,
Steers you in the right direction.
Let nothing be done through conceit,
But humility count others;
Never try to swindle or cheat,
Rather do good for your brother.
Look not about your own interest,
But the concern of another;
Have this in mind of what you trust,
To please the Heavenly Father.
Though He was in the form of God,
Counted not Himself as equal;
And not stealing honor and laud,
Nor trying to be a rival.
But as the form of a servant,
Being born the likeness of men;
Who was humbled but was fervent,
In preaching time and time again.
He was obedient till death,
Even until death on the cross;
At the time He took His last breath,
For our gain was at His loss.
God has exalted Him highly,
Bestowing His name above all;
A position with dignity,
That each person sweetly enthrall.
For in Christ every knee shall bow,
While every tongue shall confess;
For as the Father did endow,
That He is Lord who we address.
