Doing A Dominic Cummings

Your call is important to us it says
Over again  and again and again
And it's promising to answer us
But it doesn't say just when.
We've been waiting for an hour
And I'm not very impressed
I'm fact too tell the truth
I'm angry and depressed
Just grant me five minutes
With the inventor of this machine
Who seems to think it adequately
Replaces a real human being

When we did a Dominic  Cummings
And tripped out to Barnard Castle
We expected a pleasant day
Not all this stress and hassle.
Queueing quietly  in midday traffic
Not causing any fuss
When we got rudely hit by
A twenty two seater bus.
I could have told him the road
Wasn't two cars and a bus wide
But he knew better and so
He only went and tried.

So there we are obstructing
This busy major road junction
Causing a bit of mayhem to the
Normal traffic flow function.
There's a witnesses on the pavement
And he's  kicking up a din
Threatening to cross the road
And fill the drive in,
And I'm saying thank you sir
But it's really quite all right
And somehow I've managed
To avert  a threatened fight.

Eventually, backat the hotel
The receptionist is one of those
Who doesn't wear a Covid mask
To cover up her  pretty little nose.
Our broker was less than helpful
Didn't really do a thing but
Just gave us a phone number
Which he told us to ring.
Now I'm still holding on this line
Trying you  calculate the odds
Of my  call being answered before
Earth's destroyed by the gods.
