The Backyard Of My Life

The Old Evil Woman From The Dark House

The Old Evil Woman From The Dark House

When i was a child there was a dark house on the corner
With burned out windows dirty nets no curtains
Garden over grown with long grass
Strange objects such as broken washing machines and stray cats
Occupied the property but it seemed so vacant void of life itself
Me and many of my friends thought the house was haunted
Then one sunny day from out of nowhere dressed in black
Stood beside a creaking gate smoking a cigarette
There was an old laughing lady looked a bit like a witch
Holding a cane spitting on the pavement
Grinning from ear to ear
With a gold tooth judging everyone who walked down the street
Condemning them to hell for the failiers of her day
She had no time at all for other peoples views or beliefs
She couldn't care less what you want
Never mind what you think
It was her way or the highway it was kill or be killed
She knew what she was doing
She knew she was wrong she knew how to hurt
She had years of practice perfecting her greatest art on her own
She would stick her little pins in voodoo dolls she made out of straw
She would never answer when sales men knocked on her door
She could always shoot someone down in flames
Hiss bite scratch spit at authority violence and hatred where so heavy in her heart
It seemed to me she was looking for peace cause she didn't have any
She needed love cause she had none
She was scared of living so she was close to death
She had seen so much suffering she convinced her self
There was nothing good left in the world
She worked out the human condition was constant sorrow
Sugar coated with little scraps of happiness here and there
The old evil woman might be many things but gullible ain't one
