Darkness I Can't Shake
I loved you
so briefly.
Already,
you're out
of my life
forever.
Should've never said
I love you.
Should've waited
'til we met in person.
The way you
told me
where to go.
The way you
said,
"F*** you"
so callously.
But all I wanted
was for you
to spend time
with me.
Is that
such a crime?
I loved you
like the part of me
that broke off
in childhood.
The void
that's always
with me.
The darkness
I can't shake.
Why were you
so cruel
when I told you
"I feel nothing.
I feel dead."
The kind of pain
you never
get over.
The pain
that latches on
like a leach
and never lets go
of your heart & soul.
