The Backyard Of My Life

Lion Heart

Lion Heart

There's a lion in my heart
But i keep him under lock and key
I'm afraid of what he might do
If i let him out
I wonder what wars he would rage

There's a lion in my heart
And although hes kept in chains and a cage
He peeps through the iron bars
Patiently waiting to claw at the corruption
Of this dark and dirty world

Sometimes he tries to trick me
He pretends hes only a pussy cat
But I'm too clever i know better then that
Hes wild and wreck less and can easily attack

There's a lion in my heart
But i hide him so well
If he gave out a mighty roar you would never tell
That hes in there
Thirsty and hungry for carnage
In this sick and twisted world

There's a lion in my heart
Who if you give him half the chance
Would sink his teeth in to injustice
Tear my enemies from limb to limb

So every evening while people sleep
I must keep watch i must keep guard
If he ever escapes he will come down hard
On any one he sees
There's a lion in my heart
So i never get no peace
