Golden Kisses

Golden Kisses

How was I to know
that the situation was so dire.
I could not predict
what would transpire.

Our love
was so perfect.
So open to
each other.

Striving for a perfect understanding
in every word we uttered.

She held my hand
with no intention
of ever letting go.

Intimacy like that
I had never known.

Kisses embroidered in gold,
passion that broke the mold.

Tender embrace,
soft touch of her face.

Who knew the story
that would unfold.

Forbidden love.
"Star cross'd lovers"

like Romeo & Juliet.

A passion so deep
and so committed

I never could forget.
