Poetry By A CONTEMPORARY POET

Dear Mama

Dear Mama
I know it's been three long years
God called you home a piece of me left
When you went to the hospital and never made it home.
I prayed to God please just one more chance.
I miss our family functions and the way
you use to dance.
The joy we all had whenever you were around.
I Thank God for you and wish you were still around.
I could hear your voice sometimes telling me to be strong.
Sometimes I still cry from the fact you are gone.
Holidays aren't the same because you are not here.
We still try to get together. However, it's
not the same.
I miss you so much my heart feel so much pain.
I know you God your wings because you were
an angel on earth.
You showed me what a strong woman was you also
said,"Know your worth."
I miss your calls and that special ring on my
phone.
God let us borrow you and he was ready for you
to go home.
I made you a promise that I would keep..
I LOVE YOU MAMA.
REST IN PEACE
