'' We Do Not Have The Will ''

It's not my intention,
To cause apprehension,
But sometimes we must face the facts,
In this our dimension,
We require urgent attention,
We are guilty of negligent acts.

We tell blatant lies,
If a species dies,
It's all down to natural selection?
What the human denies,
Is no great surprise,
We've mastered the art of deflection.

As we face drought,
There is no doubt,
Those with, will become selfish and cruel,
Those left without,
Will have no clout,
As greed is one powerful tool.

As our planet warms,
We don't make reforms,
We continue on our sick errant ways,
Large tropical storms,
Take on new forms,
Are we witnessing the end of our days?

What we're surveying,
Is the Earth is decaying,
Mother Nature is no longer supplying,
The signs she's portraying,
Means we should start praying,
Face the facts the planet is dying.

Despite our denial,
We try to beguile,
By elsewhere apportioning blame,
The lies we compile,
Will influence our trial,
Guilty, the creator will proclaim.

When everything's gone,
We'll feel put upon,
But what's left we'll continue to kill,
We are well overdrawn,
There is no new dawn,
To Survive,
