Poetic-Verses

'' The Sanctity Of Life, We've Forsaken ''

We blast into space,
Searching for grace,
For the damage here, we've inflicted,
We are living in fear,
That we'll soon disappear,
For a long time, that fact's been predicted.

Why can't we see,
We can't poo or pee,
In those outer reaches, out there,
In space they'll be found,
Yes, it's nappies all round,
Of that truth, they don't make you aware.

Being so uncouth,
We ignored what is truth,
Our bad habits are a danger to all,
Humans let riches glisten,
We refused to listen,
Our destruction, we just couldn't stall.

Now it's too late
We cannot abate,
That which is entirely our fault,
New promises are a token,
We know will be broken,
Our greed, we know we won't halt.

C.O.P. 26,
A political fix,
Where agreements made will be binned,
Platitudes galore,
Then followed by more,
Forgive us Father, we have sinned.

There is no doubt,
As resources run out,
We continue to ignore what is fact,
The planet is bleeding,
Yet we're still overbreeding,
That I'm afraid, is a fact.

Our end is nigh,
Yet still we deny,
Our neglect will ensure our last breath,
Open your eyes,
It's a blessing in disguise,
It's not long till we meet up with death.

This place where we berth,
We humans call Earth,
Instead of giving we've taken,
Not surviving by need,
But by living by greed,
