The Tragedy Of The Modern World
Nothing is built to last anymore
People don't have proper conversations
They have access to knowledge and wisdom
At the touch of there fingertips
And yet they know nothing at all
Too many choices seem spoil there souls
They have phones and don't really talk
To one an other
They look but never listen
Running around at such speed
Chasing paper to buy things they don't need
Never stopping to take the time
To ask themselves who they are and where they are
And what there doing here what is life
Is there some kind of reason in these rhymes
Nobody has any patience anymore
They want next day delivery instant gratification
A million friends of Facebook they will never meet
They want cheaper faster broadband
They have got headphone induced hearing loss
Nobody can take a joke anymore
Confusion persists in spite of partial potential
Everybody is busy sacrificing life for death
Kindness compassion peace love and understating
Are long gone ashes to ashes dust to dust there dead and buried
Most peoples minds are broken
Nobody faces there fear everybody avoids responsibility
People always pass the blame so afraid to make mistakes
With there imaginations fried feeling empty inside
They convince themselves to fill the void with materiel things
Art has got no substance anymore
Nobody cares about the product its a cash grab
Poets and writers are to scared to speak the truth
In case it will upset or lose them followers or fans
So there words are worthless without feelings
Everybody is just doing what there told what to think
Music is made by computers and machines
So nothing sounds human or real
Nature is being destroyed at an incredible rate
Nobody apologies for bad behavior and its normal to hate
There once was a time when you was as good as your word
Whatever happened to an honest days work?
All anybody cares about is i me mine
Is there anything we can do or is that how the story goes?
