Walk by the Holy Spirit, Gratify not desires; Do spiritually merit, As to what God requires. For the fleshy desires, Are opposed to the Spirit; For what the flesh acquires, Conflicts what you inherit. But of you are Spirit led, You are not under the Law; Scriptures are what God has fed, For preventing any flaw. Works of the flesh manifest, Sexual immorality; That is causing a sensual zest, Which promotes impurity. Idolatry leads to strife, Anger comes from jealousy; That causes hatred in life, Bringing wrath through rivalry. I warn you just like before, You will never inherit; His Kingdom will lock the door, Salvation you will forfeit. Fruit of the Spirit is love, Filled with patience and kindness; As blessings flows from above, When showing your faithfulness. Having meekness, self-control, There is no Law of such things; For love and joy in your soul, As to what forbearance brings. For those who belong to Christ, Crucifies fleshy passions; No long this world be enticed, Heightens godly relations. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
