My Poetry

Lord God Is My Everything

I know what love is
For I have been in love
However, it was only one sided
Oh how I wish I would have seen it sooner

I never thought that it would happen to me
For what I had planned surely didn't happen
It had taught me a valuable lesson
That lesson, do I still carry with me to this day

I have overcome that situation
And I am an overcomer
For my God has overcome the world
Through Christ, my God and Savior, do I have victory

The Lord fights my battles
And He rescues me
My God has been with me from the beginning
He is before, behind, and beside me

I never knew how bad things could get
However, I had found out just what it was like
I pray that no one has to go through what I did
Know that Lord God is faithful and true

God heard my cry
And He saw I was broken
He knew my heart
Oh, the Lord God is gracious and merciful

When I was lonely and lost
God was right there to comfort and guide me
When I wanted to end it all
God gave me a reason to live

God is the reason that I live
For I want to serve Him for the rest of my days
And I want to dedicate my life to Him, and Him only
Oh how wonderful and amazing God is

When I had fallen to the lowest that I had ever been
God picked me up, and lifted me out of the pit
Lord God became my Living Hope and I clung on to Him
Oh how blessed I am for Lord God has blessed me

Praise be to God for ever and ever
I pray that worship and praise will always be on my lips
My God, who's the Creator of all things, He is loving
He loves me and nothing can separate me from His love

My ex thought he would break me
And perhaps, at one point, he did
God raise me up above my problems
He gave me a purpose

I was broken; God healed me
I was sadden; God comforted me
I was angry; God showed me how to forgive
I was lonely; God was there

God provided when I had nothing
God made me strong when I was weak
When I saw no way out; God gave me a way out
He carried me above the storm during my darkest time
