Doin’ what you wanna be

If you want be a poet, might be time to set

A trend, time to take a look at life, through

A novel, blue sky lens, a lens somewhat

Tendentious, a lens to pick a star, a lens

To turn things on their head, a lens to raise

The bar.

If you want to be an Einstein, might be time

To stretch the mind, time to advance current

Thoughts on black holes, space and time.

Formulate a theory of startling magnitude,

A salient work of genius, a speed of light

Balloon.

If you want to be a Newton, Karl Benz or

Faraday, an original invention will be needed

Straight away, an idea supersonic, with world-

Wide patent rights, and a queue of money-men

Outside keen to buy a slice.
