Show no partiality, Having the faith as you hold; For your spirituality, In the Lord be good as gold. If a man with a gold ring, Having fine clothing that comes by; A poor man with worn clothing, Which one is catching your eye. If your attraction to one, And rather than the other Is this right what you have done, Treating over your brother. Have you made a distinction, Judgment of an evil thought; Considered as transgression, A partiality sought. Has not God chosen the poor, As rich in faith to be heirs; Those spiritually mature, Who displaying lovingly cares. You dishonor the poor man, While the rich will oppress; For the judgment in your plan, The prestige that you obsess. The worthy name is a curse, Of the name that you are called; The wealthy being perverse, The Father will be appalled. If you keep the royal Law, According to the Scripture; Loving your neighbor in all, Helps you as a new creature. If you show respect to one, You sin if not valued all; Convicted by what is done. Just as Adam too his fall. Whosoever keeps the Law, Yet is failing in one point; Accountable with a flaw, Before penance to anoint. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
