The Lord is my light, And my salvation; Giving me the might, With affirmation. So who shall I fear, He is my stronghold; Knowing He is near, As Scripture have told. When my foes assail, My flesh try to eat; The Lord will prevail, To stumble their feet. Though an army cliques, My heart shall not fear; But the Lord convicts, Who will commandeer. I asked of the Lord, Of what I do seek; Not to be ignored, To strengthen when weak. To dwell in His house, The days of my life; Living with my spouse, Protecting from strife. I gaze on the Lord, With grace and beauty; And in one accord, With trustful duty. For He will hide me, In times of trouble; Opens eyes to see, Disguised by rubble. He lifts on a rock, Lifting up my head; And I hear Him talk, Wisdom I am fed. I will sacrifice, With my shouts of joy; As He gives advice, For me to employ.
