You were dead in iniquities, Through all your trespasses and sin; From immoral activities, That has corrupted you within. Wherein in time past that you walked, Following the course of this world; Since the prince of the air had talked, Disobedience had unfurled. Among whom we all had once lived, To satisfy our compassions; Desires of mind are not sieved, Allowing disgraceful fashions. But being rich in His mercy, Because of compassionate love; God opened our eyes to see, As His blessings flowed from above. Although we were dead in sinning, He made us alive within Christ; By grace for a new beginning, Mercy and grace that has enticed. We are raised up from our death, Seated us with Him in Heaven; The Holy Spirit gave new breath, Through salvation that was given. In the coming age He might show, Exceeding riches of His grace; In His kindness that we will know, When we will see Him face to face. Through faith by grace you have been saved, And this is not your own doing; To stop letting you be enslaved, Iniquities from pursuing. Of your own works not a result, That no one is able to boast; Rather a spiritual adult, With grace from the heavenly Host. Because we are His workmanship, Created in Christ for the good; Allowing us to get a grip, Each and everything that we should. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
