Tender Love New And Quick...

tender love
new and quick
my too eager yearning burns through to
a piercing narrowed hole
on a quickly turning wick
seared directly through my heart
my love needs no less
 no more
than this torrent
a overt-over-pouring-raging-flow of floods
growing from my desire

why staunch these flames
why not make them reach and grow fingers
and wish instead for
my blood  to flow
my blood to heal
my flood a balm
my blood to become
a home I offer

am I but a  Revenant
one whose yearnings would remake the past
give you the larger ransomed piece
of my scorched-earth  heart
so we'd be reborn
my heart yours for some new sweet repast

my grasping flame
flickers now and wants to last
long enough to know
the contents of your heart

out across the ease of nights and days
across the tide and waves
towards the beacon of your thoughts and words
spiced with both the sacred and profane...

the conversations which have been a path
to delight
to my reprieve
from older earthly pains

I re-light my flame
I'd burn my heart to cinders
to re-light this fire...
and tie off the wick
to tether mine to yours

so your heart would live
to beat again
your treasure-words not ever end
no earth to squelch your dreams your bones
no shooting star high in the sky
searching for its forever home

earth turned back into life
born in the kiln of loving fires
