 ramblings and things

Dr Spooner's Rules, OK?

His affliction caused him distress
Apparently at times, I understand
But, thank you Dr Spooner
For the gift you gave this land.
Innocuous little phrases
Cause pleasure and surprise
When they're first heard
After being Spoonerised.
That watched pot
That never boils
Now the patched wot
That bever noils

The quality of mercy
That's never strained
The mality of quercy
That's strever nained.
The common phrase
Song of a bird
Achieves mystery as
The bong of a sird.
I get great joy from
This form of wordplay
Which, in truth, I  practise
Almost every single day.

You can almost feel
The frustration of predictive text
When it tries to forecast
Which word you'll be typing next.
Thanks again Dr Spooner
For your gonderful wift
Which has given many an hour
Such a londerful wift.
I'm sorry on occasion
It caused you dismay
For me it's transformed
Many a dundane may.
