WHY DID GOD CHOOSE HUMBLE SHEPHERDS? """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Written by Stella C Mitchell December 2021 """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Dear friends - have you ever Wondered - why did God choose humble Shepherds - to be the first to see His baby Son Lying in a manger - on that bleak night - many years Ago ? - and - why would they accept Him - as The Christ child - without question - then Tell others - all that they had seen And heard - and come To know ? I believe it was because - God Had chosen shepherds - who would care For lambs - that He had purposed - as a sacrifice To cleanse His people of their sins - and to proclaim The Good News of the One who was to come - And - when the time had reached its fulness He sent His Perfect lamb - who would Die for all mankind - who was - and Is - His own beloved Son . His Son - Immanuel - God With us - who would live to please His Father - and who would grow in favour With both God - and also man - and yet - He lived Among His people - incognito - in humility And wisdom - as God's One and Only - Perfect - sinless Lamb . Born of the tribe of Judah In the lineage of David - a shepherd Boy - who acknowledged God as his own Shepherd - and - who would himself become a Mighty warrior - and a king - who would protect his Sheep from bears and lions - and one day Would free his people - and destroy the Great Goliath - in the power of God With just a pebble - and A sling . But - the One born in a Stable - though of the line of David - Was the Creator of the Universe - before all Time began - and He came into this world - which He created - to be the chosen Sacrifice - and The Messiah - promised to His people - The One - who was - and is - And is to come Again . Yes - the One - who will Return in Majesty and Glory - and at His Name - every knee will bow - and acknowledge That He is the Sovereign LORD - then - He will destroy The powers of Darkness - and the minions of satan And restore His Glorious Kingdom - as it is In Heaven - by His awesome power And His Living Word . So - dear friends - let us be As those first shepherds - and in deep Humility and reverence - acknowledge Jesus As our Saviour and our LORD - and be willing to Tell others - of His loving grace and mercy And spread the joy of Christmas - to The hearts of those weighed Down and broken - in This fallen World . He is no longer a helpless child .. but He is The King of kings .. and the LORD of lords .. and one day soon He is coming back for His Church .. His glorious Bride .. I pray that all who do not know Him as their Saviour .. will give their lives to Him this Christmas time .. and will truly know the Joy that only God can give .
