Ask a sign of the Lord your God, Let it be as high as Heaven; And be sure to honor and laud, Thankful for all He has given. I put not the Lord to the test, Never try to be in contempt; Rather I will do my best, His commands I will not exempt. Hear ye now O house of David, Is it too late to be weary; Rather I will remain avid, As my attitude kept cheery, The Lord will be giving a sign, For the virgin shall then conceive; Bearing a son who is Divine. As Immanuel to receive. He shall eat butter and honey, Knows how to refuse the evil; Having no concern of money, Doing good void of the devil. Before He knows how to refuse, The land whose two kings that you dread; Eventually they will accuse, Desire in wanting Him dead. The Lord will be bringing on you, Upon the house of the Father; Reveal a secret to construe, That will be taking you farther. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
