Muster daughter of the troops, A siege is laid against us; With a rod strike at the roots, For judging Israel as thus. O Bethlehem who is small, Too little among the clans; Now is beginning to fall, Not following what God plans. Yet out of God shall come forth, Coming forth is from the old; In ancient days from the north, Everlasting will unfold. He shall give them up in time, When she who is in labor; The rest shall confess for crime, Committed on their neighbor. He shall stand shepherd His flock, In majesty of His name; Responding where He will walk, Dwell to what He does proclaim. They shall dwell to feel secure, Great to the ends of the earth; He shall be their peace as pure, Showing them of their true worth. The Lord shall shepherd the land, And carrying a two-edge sword; Those who follow His command, They are getting their reward. Copyright © 2021 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
