I remember back
So many years ago
That Santa knew where I was
No matter where we would go
My letter to Santa
Was sent long ago
Our tree was twinkling
The house all a glow
BUT
The day before Christmas Eve
My Dad told me to get ready
We're going to Grandma's
For Christmas so go get Teddy
But Daddy how will Santa know
Where we will be
I already sent my address
With my Christmas list, you see.
With tears streaming down
My face was totally wet
Oh don't worry Peanut
He will know, I just bet
Early the next day I asked
But Dad how will he know
Later my Dad walked to the phone
Lets call Santa before we go
My Dad dialed the phone
And handed it to me
A man answered and said
Ho Ho Merry Christmas with glee
Is this really Santa
I asked in disbelief
He said of course Donna
Oh I felt such relief
And what can I do for you
This Christmas Eve Day
I know it must be important
For you to call all this way
Santa I already sent you my list
But I won't be home Christmas Day
We are going to my Grandma's
So at home I'll be so far away
Oh my child please worry not
I know where you will be
I could find you on the moon
You just wait and see
Christmas morning I awoke
Long before the sun
I ran to the tree
Santa had come!!!!
My Dad was the greatest. He knew how upset
I was so he called a friend and explained
The situation and asked him if he
Would play Santa to ease my worries.
Thank you Poppa and Merry Christmas
To all of my family in Heaven.
You all are so loved and missed.
ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
