Auld Lang Syne
I keep thinking Happy New Year
What an odd assuming phrase
For no one really knows what will be
In all the upcoming days
As the new approaches
Even though its unknown and dark
What I leave behind
Makes me hopeful to embark
The pain and suffering
Of what is past
Will it finally bring
Peace and happiness to last
So many pieces of my heart
Have been ripped away
Dear Lord please strengthen
My calm I pray
I have yet before a steep hill to climb
Please grant me the strength
To be there for others
To help to carry them the length.
Our country is in such need
Of peace across this land
So much hate and discontent
Please upon it lay your calming hand
Help us all to follow
Your all-knowing guiding light
As Your lamp that lights my way
In all the unknown after tonight
Please grant the strength
I need to help others
And be accepting of your will
For all sisters and brothers
So as this New Year makes it's start
The anger and division be ever still
Let all be accepting
Of Your all-knowing will

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
