the rain's coming
its always been here and there part of the universe its been called welcome unwelcome perverse the cleansing and washing of sins and the curse the water that feeds and destroys and the worse it reminds me of the traveling of all things and how we all are each unstoppable time is no measuring but a river of passing where's the room the movement the moment the whore who'd decide to stop and linger there are stays even unloosening yet no holds to hold onto where fingers and hand might dock and moor my hands are not so deft and strong and able to capture and cradle the water I'm thirsting for... its best not to forget but to forgive the tears like the water the river the impermanence the ocean and sea of it all there are word beneath the water and tears talk like mouths listen like rain yearning who suffers and suffers all fools and the misunderstanding of foolishness that comes with the call there are no singular meanings of words and their leanings but truth and love live there within the baby crowns his mother's womb arriving though he's leaving much too soon the electric currency that drives a raging heart unseen or not noticed still moves though it appears receding the bliss which lives in your looks exit the cochlean canal of my ear and my small hands reach for it as exits stage-left and stage rear longing is like the rain forever nearing forever receding uncontrollable untamed wild to be within your shadow to know your shade to feel your sun to drown in your rain and then to somehow seep silently within and ride its course again and again to find if there's a journey in the water of your heart i've brought my oar i've come to set my paddle down won't you can you will you ask me to stopping fording my canoe and let me in (from a dream and from my many-rivered thoughts) I may have mixed a metaphor or to...this is a work in progress but I like how its begun...and that its start-again LEGAL COPYRIGHT FOR THIS POEM 1/1/2022 11:11 PM PACIFIC STANDARD TIME AND ALSO FOR THIS WRITER/POET MELISSA A.
