Showed Up In Boots
Showed Up In Boots
I was raised in the South
And for that I'm mighty proud
If you can't accept
Then take a seat with the liberal crowd
I say what I mean
And I mean what I say
Your acceptance of me
Is not my pay
I am not one
To choose silence on a wrong
Conflict is not my fear
It's those who sing the silent song
I speak with honesty
While you call me rude
If the truth you can't handle
Then what part is my attitude
I love my country
And to see old glory fly
Brings pride to my soul
And a tear to my eye
There is another flag
I honor for those who died
Fighting for what they believed
And Yes your history has lied
I'm a Rebel thru and thru
To the core of my being
I wear the colors proud
And don't care what you think you're seeing
What happened so many years ago
Was not done by me nor to you
So bite on that
And give it a good chew
You try to destroy and vandalize
A history I hold very dear
But you will never rise above
Until you get your facts clear
Yes I can be harsh
And have some rough edges
But I'm not the one
Creating the racial wedges
So cry and whine if you really must
But I stand firm on my Southern roots
And you can bet your sweet butt
I'll show up in my crap-kicking boots.

ღ God asked me how long I planned on keeping you in my life.
I smiled and said...
How do I choose between always and forever...
But then I have found that's really not up to me... ღ
