House Of Cats

This was once a house of Catts
Sometimes two, three, even four,
A house once  ruled by the not
Always so gentle little gentle paw.
That  little poke in
The middle of the night,
Just to check
You're still alright,
And you might as well,
Now you're awake
Serve  a little food
For pity's sake.
I said food.
I'm not eating that
Do you think I'm  one
Of those common cats.
I know some times it
Sounds absurd
But I've been reduced
To eating a bird
Even at times
A humble mouse
I left one somewhere.
Around the house.
Stop being awkward
Can't you just see.
It's just thato  time
For me to sit on your knee.
I'm a creature of beauty
Character and charm,
Sleeping peacefully
Over your unused arm.
Now I'm going outside.
I don't quite know when
But I'll be back
When you're needed again.
Yes this used to be a house of cats,:
A house of purring , miaowing hissing
No cats are living  here now:
Sadly,  I think,  there's something missing.
