If you have been raised with Christ,
Seek the things that are above;
Let yourself not be enticed,
Anything on earth thereof.
Set your mind on things above,
Not on things that are on earth;
You have died because of love,
And given a second birth.
Your life is hidden with Christ,
When in who your life appears;
Willing to be sacrificed,
As anyone who reveres.
With Him in glory appear,
Puts to death the earthly you;
Godly desires adhere,
As His wisdom will construe.
Death to evil desire,
Your lusts of idolatry;
Passions that light the fire,
Of lewd immorality.
For the coming of the wrath,
Who are disobedient;
Discipline to cross their path,
Since they have been deviant.
You too once walked for some time,
When you were living in them;
Not thinking of as a crime,
That God would ever condemn.
Put away that profane talk,
The malice and the slander;
Follow Jesus when you walk,
Stay straight not to meander.
Never lie as to deceive,
Put off the old with its deeds;
Renew knowledge to believe,
In what the Creator needs.
